Кровати из дерева своими руками (74 фото): как сделать деревянную двуспальную и двухъярусную из бруса или досок, из массива

DIY wooden beds

    Since it is high-quality materials that guarantee the durability of furniture, if you choose them arbitrarily, there will be much more advantages from this. Of course, making a bed with your own hands will take much more time and effort than just buying it or ordering an assembly from professional furniture makers. However, personal choice and constant control over the quality of your creation will ultimately bear fruit and will pay off with the long service life of such an important piece of furniture made on your own.

    Choosing solid wood as a material , you need to take into account that it has a rather high price and certain difficulties in terms of preparatory work and the process of making the beds itself.

    In the absence of proper experience in handling solid wood, it is better to choose simpler options, although any product created, for example, from solid pine or oak, will look very beautiful and have enviable durability.

    A sleeping place made of natural logs looks very impressive, but here there is both the difficulty of acquiring them, and the unreality of installing such a bed in small rooms.

    Given the specifics of working with an array, different types of lumber are more frequent in use : it will be much easier to independently create a bed from a bar or planed or trimmed boards.

    The only nuance that you should pay special attention to when buying them is good drying: if the product is originally made from a wet bar, when it dries, the structure will begin to creak or deform.

    A bed made of boards is also an inexpensive and good option. Furniture boards are rather massive slabs that are glued from separate pieces of wood.

    Such a product will delight you with its beauty and practicality, the strength of the boards allows you to even make carvings on them, but, as in working with wood, certain skills are needed here: the specificity of furniture boards implies the presence of internal stresses, which should be able to be handled correctly in practice.

    Finely dispersed wood-fiber fraction (MDF) is an inexpensive and rather durable material, which looks pretty nice with additional processing (for example, with varnish coating).

    On sale you can find MDF boards both with a finished varnish coating and without it, which will be a significant plus if the manufacturer plans to carry out the processing on his own.

    Chipboard or chipboard is also a material familiar to many, which is easy to cut and process, however, it should be borne in mind that it is better to use it not for making bed supporting structures, but for drawers, backs and decorative elements. If the board is already sold laminated, you can save a lot of time.

    It is better to purchase fittings for the future bed from durable steel than from aluminum. Aluminum elements are certainly much cheaper, but steel is much stronger, and it would be better not to skimp on this, but to take care of quality from all sides.

    It is important to keep in mind that the metal fasteners will need to be tightened as the wooden base dries up, and if the fasteners are steel, the bed will take on all the load at once, and in the future there will be no problems with the strength of the structure.

    Choosing a size

    First of all, it is important to determine the size of the future bed: the comfort of sleep and the presence of good rest depend on them.

    The optimal length of the berth can reach 200 cm, and the width should be selected, depending on individual preferences and body characteristics.

    By the way, the usual classification of beds (single, double and "lorry") was once developed based on the parameters of width, not length, which should be especially taken into account when planning dimensions and drawing up a drawing.

    A single small bed can be 90 cm wide and 80 cm long, which is optimal for making children's models. You can also consider an option with dimensions of 100x100 cm, if the area of the children's room allows. A bed of 150x150 or 150x190 cm is already close to the parameters of a one and a half bed, however, the optimal dimensions for an adult are 150 cm wide and 190 cm long. You can also increase them if the room has sufficient area, and the bed will not look bulky in the overall picture.

    When drawing up a drawing, it is also important to take into account the fact that the best bed length for a person of any age should always be 15 cm longer than his actual height - with a margin, which will provide maximum comfort and freedom during sleep.

    It is not recommended to make a bed that is too low: the minimum distance from the floor to the mattress should be set at 50 cm. This will ensure the minimum load on the spine.

    There is one more subtlety that must be taken into account when making a bed: the older the person, the higher it should be.

    Of course, the mattress is an important part of any bed. It should be purchased in advance in order to plan all sizes based on its parameters. A standard orthopedic mattress can be from 1.5 to 2 m, with a height of 25 cm. In extreme cases, you can make it yourself - from foam rubber and other suitable materials.

    Device

    A simple bed of beams and boards can be made quite quickly, following a certain algorithm of actions.

    For this you will need:

    • 2 boards (dimensions 250x30cm) - for the side walls of the bed;
    • 3 boards (dimensions 200x30cm) - front, back of the bed and headboard;
    • beams 5 pcs 4x4cm, length 200 cm - supporting structure of the bed and its legs;
    • slats 27 pcs 150x4x2 cm;
    • self-tapping screws and other accessories, depending on the need;
    • varnish, "stain", construction glue for wood.

    You will also need a small standard set of tools: a screwdriver, an electric jigsaw, a hacksaw, a plane.

    For cleaning the elements - sandpaper, preferably fine-grained, for measurements - a tape measure, for accurate knowledge of the dimensions of the corners - a square, a simple pencil for marking.

    Sawing a tree should be carried out slowly, having previously made markings on it with a simple pencil, or take a cutter and make marks with it. Usually, in the process of manufacturing elements, you have to make several of the same. In this case, the first part is first cut out, which will serve as a template, and all the rest will already be manufactured with an orientation to its parameters.

    When cutting, you must immediately clean it with fine-grained sandpaper.

    All corners of the bed should be strictly straight, 90 degrees, so measurements will have to be done often and carefully and only then fasten the parts together. Otherwise, the bed will not be strong and will quickly break under the weight of the human body. All elements are first carefully glued with construction glue and only after that they are already securely attached to the tree using self-tapping dowels.

    Do not forget to remove the glue residues, because their presence will significantly complicate the subsequent processing steps.

    After cutting all the parts, you can proceed directly to the assembly and installation of the bed.

    The location of the beams that perform the function of support must be determined by dividing the length of the front and then the back wall by three. Write down the resulting figure. Keep in mind that the mattress must always be at least 5 cm deep in the bed + 2 cm more (the thickness of the slats) and + 4 cm (the thickness of the bars of the longitudinal elements) are mandatory. The final figure is 11 cm. It should be noted at the top of both walls of the future bed, front and back - there the bars for the main support will be fastened.

    The bars are screwed on from the inside. When fastening, it is important to watch the self-tapping screws so that they do not "cut through" the surface of the product - in order to avoid damage to the aesthetic appearance of the bed. The length of self-tapping screws is usually calculated in advance.

    After screwing the bars, 7 cm is measured (from the top of the board for the side parts) and a mark is made with a ruler and pencil. The beams are screwed to the sides of the bed with a 6 cm deviation on each side. After that, 2 more small timber pieces are attached vertically to the edge of the beams - with a gap of 20 mm to the edge of the board.

    The headboard is mounted to the front wall. All surfaces and edges to be glued are carefully coated with glue. The workpieces are glued together as tightly as possible so that there are no gaps and unnecessary gaps.

    The headboard is reinforced with several slats (usually there are three). The slats are glued with construction glue and additionally screwed on. All finished elements are treated with wood stain - so they will acquire the desired color and shade. After the stain, as usual, the varnish treatment follows, which is recommended to be carried out twice.

    After all the elements are ready, we proceed directly to the final assembly. We make a frame, fastening its parts with self-tapping dowels. On the support beams, two load-bearing beams are laid, previously screwed to the walls at the back and front, and fixed. To give the structure maximum stability, legs are additionally attached to the supporting bars - it is better to do this from the inside, for the purpose of aesthetics.

    The supporting structure is ready and securely fixed, and now you can lay and screw the slats, leaving a uniform distance of 4 cm between them.The space between the walls of the bed and the slats should be at least 2 cm.In conclusion, the backs are mounted, a mattress is placed on the bed and you can start using it ...

    Self-made podium

    As you know, the podium bed in its many versions is becoming more and more popular in our country. Craftsmen-furniture makers invent very interesting and practical ways to install just such structures in any place: from a large country house to the usual small-sized "Khrushchev", where it is very problematic to place a large amount of furniture. There are plenty of catwalk models, however, the most compact of them is exactly the one where there are several bedside boxes for linen and other things.

    Due to the fact that the presence of such boxes inside the structure makes it possible to significantly free up the surrounding space, this version of the podium is the most popular among the owners of small apartments and rooms.

    Those who want to acquire a compact podium bed often ask the question of how to make a simple model with boxes with their own hands.

    Speaking about the simplicity of this model, a reservation should be made that we will talk here not about a monolithic, but about a frame base, which should be as strong as possible in order to withstand the loads that are imminent to it.

    In order to calculate everything correctly, you will need a detailed drawing with the dimensions of all boxes and each bar (or shield) of the frame inscribed in it - depending on the material of manufacture chosen.

    Linen drawers located inside the podium or under the bed have the disadvantage of constantly collecting dust, because they are located next to the floor. However, this disadvantage is usually not strongly taken into account in the case when there is no other way out, but there is a desire to save the surrounding space in the best possible way.

    Despite the fact that such a model in everyday life is considered quite simple, there is a lot to take into account when planning. The floor has its own mechanics and certain properties, and the partitions of the bed will interact with it all the time. This is another reason why the frame structure must have an increased degree of strength.

    For self-production of this version of the podium bed, it is better to use lumber wood materials. This will ensure the strength of the frame in order to avoid further troubles, moreover, the strength of monolithic beams allows you to "bypass" possible problems with the distribution of the load in the following way.

    The spar is calculated by analogy with the frame design - "ridge", which is usually installed on trucks designed for heavy weights.

    This means that the frame must be based on a strong and thick beam, which will take all the loads emanating from the crossbeams, "spread out" in different directions.

    For the manufacture of such a ridge, it is better to take two large 100x50 beams. The rest of the supporting structure beams are made of 100x100 beams. Other details can be made either from wood (if time and financial resources permit), or from chipboard, which will perfectly combine with any types of wood materials, provided that it is not used for the load elements of the bed.

    It should be remembered that chipboards, due to their peculiarity to exfoliate, do not accept either alternating or concentrated types of load.

    However, with a strong desire, you can make a podium bed on a frame entirely of chipboard. This will be a panel structure, placed on a cross, which serves as the main support, with a complete absence of small parts. The boards are installed "edge-on" on the floor and support the flooring from below. The main crosspiece with overlays takes up the bulk of the entire load.

    Of course, the panel boards must be thick enough, at least 30 mm.

    The drawers will fit inside, but this option has one significant drawback: due to the fact that it is impossible to arrange the cross in another way, half of the space under the bed will remain unused.

    Of the two proposed options for a podium with boxes, you can choose any that will be the most suitable and possible in production.

    How to make a wooden bunk bed?

    A wooden bunk bed is a great option when it comes to how to arrange two sleeping places in the nursery or free up as much space in the room for the child as possible. The cheapest and at the same time durable materials that can be used in the manufacture are boards and pine beams.

    When calculating the amount of materials and drawing up a drawing, it is important to take into account the distance from the lower tier to the bottom of the upper tier - its recommended value is 85 cm.This will provide a comfortable sitting below not only a child, but also an adult.

    Below are the main elements of a bunk bed with their standard sizes (one element):

    • vertical racks 38x76x1730 mm;
    • strengthening of racks 38x76x1730 mm;
    • elements of the supporting structure (frame) 38x140x2030 mm;
    • headboard strips (bottom and top) 20x140x914 mm;
    • strips for the foot (bottom and top) 20x140x914 mm;
    • center bar (ibid.) 20x90x914 mm;
    • side safety fence 20x90x1800 mm;
    • stair railings 20x90x1510 mm;
    • stair steps 20x64x482 mm.

    The supporting frame is assembled from four pre-prepared boards. For the reliability of the frame, an additional strip is glued longitudinally to the board and screwed to it with screws.

    The bars, glued to the strip that supports the mattress longitudinally, will act as a base on which the slats need to be laid across.

    Railing rails are made of simple processed boards, and the stair railings are made of boards with the possibility of frame reinforcement.

    The fixing points of the steps must be indicated in advance, and during assembly, make sure that the metal elements fixing them do not come into contact with the frame fastening fittings. The foot and head parts of the bed are fastened with screws - at the bottom with a supporting structure. Self-tapping screws should be sawed off from the edge.

    The second tier is also assembled in a similar way, and the fence with a ladder is also attached. As for the fence, if there is a desire and time, it can be made on the side of the wall. Treat the finished bed with stain and varnish, let it dry - and you can lay the mattresses.

    Useful Tips

    Sometimes it is believed that using ordinary nails in the manufacture of furniture is no longer modern and impractical, but this is not so. Nails can not only become the cheapest piece of furniture, but also facilitate the work of the carpenter, without requiring any preparatory actions in the form of drilling with a drill.

    Probably, few people realize that ordinary pallets from building materials can be used as a basis for a solid wooden bed.

    They benefit not only from their cheap price, but also from their good quality, because bad wood is unlikely to be used for transporting and storing heavy bricks.

    In addition, over time, using such pallets for their intended purpose, the tree can perfectly shrink and dry, which is its indisputable advantage.

    Pallets can be brought to a more decent look by sanding and connected to each other with long self-tapping dowels. They can also be painted and varnished to give them a minimal aesthetic appearance. In order to make a full-fledged double bed, you need only four such building pallets, and from eight pallets or more, you can build any podium you want.

    For the manufacture of bed legs, you should not use chipboard : as already mentioned, this material, despite its widespread use, is not suitable for the manufacture of parts that can withstand a serious load. If you take this lightly and make the legs of the bed from chipboard material, at best they will delaminate, and the bed will constantly creak, and at worst they may simply not withstand the weight.

    The bed itself is designed not only to support the mattress, but also must have properties that would evenly distribute the load between it and the bed frame. The boards on the bed should be laid loosely according to the lamella principle, and the plywood board for the mattress itself is already placed on top.

    Slat boards are best laid laterally rather than longitudinally, because this is how they bend slightly downward in response to body movements.

    Beautiful bedroom interior ideas

    For a children's room, there are a large number of ways to make a bunk ensemble, which may not just consist of two sleeping places.

    For example, there are options in the form of transformers, when in the daytime, using a simple mechanism, the bed below easily turns into a desk. If desired, it is also possible to make this kind of two-story structure with your own hands.

    For children of preschool and primary school age, it will be an excellent solution to make railings and bed ladders from available tools, or simply snags and small logs found in the forest, sanded and processed by conventional carpentry methods. Such an unusual interior will decorate the nursery, and will always give the child joy and the possibility of additional space for games.

    A pull-out bed from the podium will be the best solution when you need to create a cozy interior space in a small room. In the daytime, it can be removed inside the podium, thereby freeing up space for receiving guests.

    A strong frame of such a product, which is based on a ridge structure made of massive timber, will allow you to place a cozy office with a computer table and shelves for books at the top of the podium. If you take care of the exterior decoration of this option with a high-quality laminate made of natural materials, the room will look just great, despite its small area.

    A large bedroom in a country house is a great excuse to place a luxurious double bed of any desired design there.

    A bedroom with a carved bed always looks very attractive, and if you master woodcarving on your own, wide open spaces for creativity open up.

    You can cut out figures of various animals or birds and attach them to the back and foot of the bed, and if you want to cut patterns, high quality wood will do it.

    By the way, cheaper materials, such as chipboard, are also not afraid of such work and are quite adapted to use an acceptable and simple threading technique.

    By using pallets for building materials to make a bed, a true creative craftsman will surely be able to find applications for the holes in them.

    The pallets themselves can be disguised as it should, by sanding and painting in some unusual color, and inside the holes you can place absolutely safe lighting for the bed in the form of LED lamps or lamps. They do not heat up and are quite suitable for such a self-styled design.

    If the bed is made in the form of a simple podium with a mattress lying on top, this also opens up huge scope for creative thought. After all, the headboard of such a bed can be decorated as you like: for example, get old boards out of the closet, wash them, varnish them on top, write something on them in an incomprehensible language, attach to the wall at the head of the bed - and a mystical "budget" bedroom in the style hand-made ready.

    Lovers of everything warm and soft can buy several pillows of the same shape and color and also fix them at the headboard - you get a kind of panel with a touch of simple and cozy home humor.

    Large colored decorative cushions can be attached to a wall-mounted metal pipe using strong colored bands. It is important to remember that feather pillows are not suitable for such purposes, due to the fact that they are quite heavy. For decorative design, pillows made of synthetic winterizer or holofiber are perfect.

    A homemade double podium bed, not adjacent to the wall, can also become a space for creativity if you put shelves with books inside the podium instead of traditional boxes. Books can be both real and "fake", and if somewhere in the house there are old books with yellowed sheets lying around, then by filling the shelves with them, you can create an indescribable atmosphere of a truly vintage interior in the room.

    Planks that have been in the shed for a long time should not be thrown away. They can also be used to create a wonderful rustic atmosphere by decorating the headboard of a small bed in the country. Boards are preliminarily adjusted to the size, sanded and varnished. Dyeing them in a different color is not worth it - it is better to use a stain in order to enhance their dark, time-affected color. The bed can be fitted with a patchwork quilt and colorful pillows.

    If there is a desire, time and opportunity, it is realistic not only to make a bed with your own hands, but also to independently design the bedroom so that it looks unusual and comfortable, always creating a good mood for its owner.
